Area Chair - Councillor Jenny Whysall

|
Hello, I am Councillor Jenny Whysall, Chair of the Rother Valley South Area Assembly. I am delighted to welcome you to our website.
During the past 12 months we have tried to make the Area Assembly a better place to live, learn and work.
To this end, the Assembly has bought two mobile CCTV cameras which can be requested by individuals and placed in specific locations. So far, 44 requests have been made. Litter picks have been organised in various locations and more litter/dog bins have been sited throughout the area. A Youth Shelter has been placed in Greenlands Park and a Youth Festival organised in Dinnington.

The Area Assembly has financed sports coaching by the Northern Sports Academy for Young People in Kiveton Park and Dinnington. These are just some of the things we have achieved in the past year and the feedback from them has been positive.
As a result, we wish to continue these initatives in the next 12 months and to build on them. In particular, we want to involve young people in Local Democracy Week which takes place for one week with various activities including a visit to the Houses of Parliament, a local Question Time and an opportunity to take your local Councillor to school.
We shall continue to work with our partners including the Police, Streetpride, the Primary Care Trust, 2010 Rotherham Ltd and Environmental Health to do our best to make Rother Valley South a cleaner, healthier, safer place to live.
If you would like to find out more the please do not hesitate to Contact Us.
Cllr Jenny Whysall.
