Social Enterprise

The free support we are able to provide at Voluntary Action Rotherham is paid for through the European Regional Development Fund and our local Regional Development Agency — Yorkshire Forward. We are part of Rotherham Enterprise and our partners are the Chamber of Commerce and RMBC, through RiDO (Rotherham Investment and Development Office) and Rotherham Youth Enterprise.
Community Business Coaches give support to any individual or group hoping to set up a business – in our case a Social Enterprise.

  Bin it to Win it Campaign

Littering is a common problem throughout the whole of the Rother Valley South area and local people, who attended a recent Area Assembly meeting highlighted how bad this had become. The Bin it to Win it project was suggested as a way of encouraging people to dispose of their litter in the correct way.

The project has been funded through the Rother Valley South Area Assembly Devolved Budget and is now running across the Rother Valley South Area.

How the project works;

If a member of the Safer Neighbourhood Team, this could be a Rotherham Warden, a PCSO, Neighbourhood Champion or even an Elected Member, notices someone putting their litter in a bin, they will take their details and that person will be entered into a prize draw.

Draws will take place bi- monthly at the Area Assembly meetings where 4 people will be awarded a prize, 2 under 16’s and 2 over 16’s.
