2010 Rotherham Ltd

2010 Rotherham Ltd is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) that is entirely owned by the Council to manage and improve our housing stock.

It is a non profit organisation which takes on the day to day responsibility of managing, repairing and improving the neighbourhoods of Rotherham. 2010 Rotherham Ltd also aims to provide a good quality housing and maintenance service – by working with tenants and other key partners to help build sustainable neighbourhoods and deliver against neighbourhood priorities. The Rother Valley South team are based at New Street Housing Office in Dinnington.

Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT)

The Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) operates at a Neighbourhood/Area Assembly level. The SNT is a multi-agency team, that works together on the basis of shared information and a commitment to tackle local crime, grime and disorder issues.

The team consists of local Police Officers (Police Constables, Special Constables and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs); the Neighbourhood Manager and Neighbourhood Champions; Rotherham Wardens; Neighbourhood Enforcement, Streetpride staff; Anti-Social Behaviour specialists; Young People's Service staff and has close links to the Area Assembly.

Dinnington Area Regeneration Trust (DART)

Dinnington Area Regeneration Trust is a community partnership managed by a committee of Dinnington Residents.

The Trust works hard to improve the Dinnington area and the quality of life for a local people. They provide Training help and support to local residents and Community groups in the Dinnington and Laughton Common Area.

A number of projects have been developed by DART including;

  • The production of a community newsletter which is delivered on a monthly basis.
  • A drop in ICT suite that local people can access.

Kiveton Park and Wales Community Development Trust

The Kiveton Park and Wales Community Development Trust provides training, help and support to residents in the Parish of Wales and also to local community groups.

The Trust has a management committee made up of local residents and are undertaking a number of projects in order to improve the area and offer opportunities to people living in the Parish, including:

  • A History Project has been up and running for around 5 months looking at the History and Heritage of Kiveton Park and Wales, over 100 volunteers have signed up to become involved in this.
  • The development of an internet shopping business.
    Kivo-Ebiz is a not for profit business and all money made is invested in the local community.

Rotherham Investment and Development Office (RiDO)

Rotherham Investment and Development Office (RiDO) work to actively foster the growth of start-up and small businesses by providing business incubator facilities, advice and business support services, and managed office/workspace in the Rotherham area.

Starting up a new business venture can be a pretty scary process if you try to do it on your own. Here in Rother Valley South, for those who are just starting to put their business idea together, we have a Business Advisor.

Rachel Clark is based within Dinnington Resource Centre and offers a free impartial and totally confidential advice service. Rachel can help you assess your ideas and provide guidance on the next steps to help you get your business up and running. By acting as a personal mentor, she can provide guidance on business planning, finance, marketing, operations and people development etc. Rachel will maintain a close working relationship with each new business, carrying out regular health checks where required.

Rother Valley South – The Voluntary and Community Sector

The area of Rother Valley South incorporates a thriving Voluntary and Community sector. The Area Assembly links with a number of groups including:

  • The Kiveton Park and Wales Community Development Trust provides training, help and support to the community residing in the Parish of Wales.
  • Dinnington Area Regeneration Trust provides the same kind of support to local residents and Community groups in the Dinnington and Laughton Common Area.
  • The Dinnington Resource Centre is a centre run by the community for the community. The centre is home to the Library, a Community Café and Dinnington Pre-School. It’s also a venue for many Community groups to meet and for many functions and events.
  • Woodland Drive Family Learning Centre offers training and a place for Community groups to meet in North Anston.
  • There are nine Tenant and Resident Associations (TARAs) across the area, who are all working hard to improve the area’s in which they exist.

Many other community groups are in existence including History societies, Dance groups, Bowling Clubs, Luncheon Clubs the list is endless. All of the Groups/Trusts are run by an army of volunteer’s providing a valuable infrastructure for the Rother Valley South area.
