Area Chair - Councillor John Swift

Hello, may name is Councillor John Swift and I am a Councillor for the Rother Vale Ward and Chair of the Rother Valley West Area Assembly.

I would like to welcome you to the Rother Valley West website which will give you all the information you need on the Rother Valley West Area Assembly.

As chair of the Assembly, I am committed to following up on the priorities you have told us about. During the last twelve months, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, along with its partner agencies, has endeavoured to use its resources in a more co-ordinated way to tackle issues raised by local residents, different agencies have also come together to work more efficently within Rother Valley West.

What's especially exciting is that these actions are increasingly aligned with what you have already told us are your priorities. This is, in a nutshell, what the new way of working is all about.

The next twelve months will see the Rother Valley West Area Assembly building on the good work that has happened so far, adapting our processes and what we deliver so that we can even more closely align what we and our partners do with what residents are identifying as a priority.

I am keen to hear your views about local issues and how the Area Assembly is working, you can get involved and 'have your say' by coming along to an Area Assembly meeting, getting involved in community planning events, attending your local ward councillors surgery or just  Contact Us.
