City and Guilds Individual Profile in Active Citizenship

Would you like to gain a free qualification in active citizenship? The course is for people who are already involved in their community and people who would like to get more actively involved. It is a free course and provides free lunch and residential accommodation. MAKE IT SAFE - THE SCHOOL RUN COMPETITION WINNERS

Here are the three Lucky winners of the Prize quiz  from the Make it safe booklet. Richard Kearney presented Daniel Bowns from Rawmarsh Ashwood Junior & Infant School with first prize of a £50 ASDA Voucher (left) and the two runners up each recieving a £25 Asda vouchers were Kimberly Sikhosand (centre) from High Greave Infant School  and Oliver Routledge from Sandhill primary School

 Make it Safe - The School Run

The Make it safe campaign was launched during May through to July in all 21 Primary Schools within the Wentworth South Area. The project was developed in Partnership with the Wentworth South Area Assembly team, Safer Neighbourhood Team and the RMBC road Safety Team  

The Project aims to raise awarness of issues of dangerous parking outside schools, particularly during drop of and pick up times and involves a DVD and booklet which has been issued to all 5,000 primary school pupil in the area .  The DVD includes three videos for different age groups and stars pupils from around the area.

20 local young people worked on the film and booklet by attending work placement at Rawmarsh City Learning Centre, where they all gained an accreditation for their hard work.

MOTORBIKE NUISANCE

In July, South Yorkshire Police received a large number of complaints from residents of Woodlaithes Village regarding motorbike nuisance.  In response to this a multi agency operation was organised and took place on Sunday 12th July.
Sgt Bill Bell said “thanks to all the hard work and co-operation of all involved the operation was a great success and resulted in 4 Bikes being recovered under the Police Reform act and 4 offenders being identified.
