The purpose of the Wentworth Valley Area Plan is to draw together a summary of the major issues, priorities and actions from across the Wentworth Valley Area Assembly.
These issues are identified by communities through local Community Partnerships, Area based initiatives, Community Planning activities and through partner agencies such as South Yorkshire Police and the Rotherham Primary Care Trust.

|
The Area Assembly undertook a consultation to find out what the community priorities are for 2009/10 Area Plan. The top 10 priorities are:
|
| 1. Reduce Anti-Social Behaviour |
6. Increase community facilities and activities |
| 2. Increase facilities for Children & Young People |
7. Improve opportunities for access to learning new skills |
| 3. Improve parks and open spaces |
8. Improve road and pavement maintenance |
| 4. Increase employment opportunities |
9. Improve street cleanliness |
| 5. Reduce Criminal damage |
10. Reduce drug misuse |
| These priorities were used to request applications for Area Assembly funding from partners and community groups. A public vote was held to decide which projects to support. We are currently waiting for Cabinet ratification to confirm which projects are going to be supported. An update will be provided before the 18th June. These project will form part of the new Area Plan. |
