Inspire Services and Funders in the Area with YOUR Community Group Priorities
Wentworth Valley Area Assembly and Maltby Town Council are holding a series of workshops for Community groups or those wishing to form or join a group in the Maltby area. All workshops are held at 6pm at the Edward Dunn.
The first workshop is on 1st Session 16th September- where you can come and meet service providers in your area one-to-one in a ‘speed dating’ style- where you get 5 minutes per conversation. Service providers include Police, Maltby Academy, Voluntary Action Rotherham, Probation Service, Youth Services, Groundwork, Fire service, Rotherfed and Sports Development.
The second workshop is on the 7th October 6pm-8pm - This is a ‘meet the funder’ workshop –funders currently confirmed are South Yorkshire Community Foundation, Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Humberside Learning Consortium and Hargreaves. You will find out what funds are available and how to apply for them.
21st October 6pm-8pm- This workshop will be to discuss community group priorities and feedback from the previous sessions.
Further dates booked are 18th November and 2nd December –these may focus on writing funding applications or on a specific area community groups may be interested in – i.e. how to set up a youth group/ environmental project.
We welcome any community group in the Maltby area to attend as many workshops as they can. We would also welcome anyone who would like to join a community group or is interested in setting one up.
