Devolved Budget Event
07/08/2008
The Rotherham Area Assembly team and Chair Councillor Barry Dodson in partnership with Streetpride held their annual Devolved Budget Event in June.

The event is a unique opportunity for community members to vote on the projects they have put forward to the devolved budget.  Twenty plus members of the community attended the event from across the Rotherham South area.

With a substantial fall in this year's budget, it was crucial that the community had the opportunity to prioritise the projects submitted.  The event held at the Town Hall began with an overview of last years projects followed by a presentation of the projects put forward this year. Each of the projects was discussed by the community representatives and voted on in order of merit.

This successful event was bought into the community and a number of community members present withdrew projects in favour of other areas after having this opportunity to view and discuss fully all the projects submitted.
